Malin is set to make an appearance at the LA Shorts Fest ‘09 in Los Angeles, CA. The festival runs from July 23 – 31 and contains diverse genres and subject matter contained in over 280 short films, music videos and commercials by established and emerging talent from around the globe.

Hollywood stars igniting the screen at this year’s festival, both behind the camera and in front of it, include: Scarlett Johansson, Courteney Cox, Demi Moore, Kirsten Smith, Lena Headey, Malin Akerman (Watchmen), Anna Faris (The House Bunny), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), Kevin Bacon, Laura Dern, Elizabeth Perkins, Sean Young, Isabella Rossellini, Enrico Colantoni, Dana Delany, Sir Derek Jacobi, Olympia Dukakis, Patrick Warburton, Bill Engvall, Nick Cave, Rumer Willis, Madeline Zima, Stephen Graham, Brittany Snow, Elizabeth Perkins, Sean Young, Kristy Swanson, Sarah Wright, Dana Delany, Sarah Paulson, Rhys Darby, Will Patton, Linda Hunt, Rupert Evans, Paula Malcomson Michael Stipe (R.E.M.).

Lots of new media has been released for Malin’s upcoming movie, “Couples Retreat”! There is a poster, production stills and trailer now online! I have added the poster and stills to our gallery, you can view those by clicking on the thumbnail to the left of this post. The film is going to be released on October 9, 2009 and the film’s website is going to be located at CouplesRetreatMovie.com.

Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Kristin Davis, Kristen Bell and Faizon Love star in Universal Pictures’ upcoming comedy Couples Retreat. Based on an original idea of Vaughn’s, the comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three set out to jet ski, spa and enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price. What follows is a hilarious look at real world problems faced by all couples. The film also stars Kali Hawk and Jean Reno.

Mike and Trent are back! Universal has debuted the first trailer for Couples Retreat on Apple today. Just looking at the cast, I’d say this is the ensemble comedy of the year. Here are the four couples: Kristen Bell and Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau and Kristin Davis, Vince Vaughn and Malin Akerman, and Faizon Love and Kali Hawk. This seems like one hell of a wild, quirky, fun comedy, what more can I say? It also looks a lot like Forgetting Sarah Marshall but with four couples instead of just one. Upping the ante, so to say. I’m certainly looking forward to this. And don’t forget, A.R. Rahman is scoring Couples Retreat as well. Enjoy!
