Composer/musician A.R. Rahman, who picked up two Oscars for his work on “Slumdog Millionaire,” will compose the score for Universal’s upcoming comedy “Couples Retreat.”
It will be Rahman’s first score for an American film.
“Couples,” directed by Peter Billingsley, stars Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Kristin Davis, Kristen Bell and Faizon Love and is based on an original idea of Vaughn’s about four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort.
Vaughn is producing for his Wild West Picture Show Productions alongside Scott Stuber for Stuber Productions.

Malin was in attendance at the Spike TV’s “Guys Choice Awards” on Saturday to pick up the Hot ‘n’ Fresh award! She was also in attendance at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday – sporting a white pants suit and rocking it!
