Zack Snyder’s Watchmen has topped the Australian box office on its first weekend on release.

The big-budget graphic novel adaptation, which stars Billy Crudup, Malin Akerman, Jackie Earle Haley and Patrick Wilson as superheroes in Cold War-era America, ends He’s Just Not That Into You’s three-week reign at number one.
