Never heard of Malin Akerman? The cinematic juggernaut that is WATCHMEN is about to change all that.

Malin Maria Akerman was born in Stockholm, Sweden on May 12th, 1978 — she is an actress, model and singer. After moving to Canada when she was two years old (she stayed behind after her family returned to Sweden … years later, of course), Malin lived in Niagra-On-The-Lake, Ontario where she attended Parliament Oak Primary School and Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. Later she attended North Toronto Collegiate Institute and Dante Aligheri Academy in Toronto.

When Malin was seventeen, she won the Ford Supermodel of Canada Search — as modeling turned toward acting, she moved to southern California to pursue it more seriously. After finding work in television fare like Earth: Final Conflict, The Others, and Witchblade, she was cast in the feature films The Utopian Society, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle, The Heartbreak Kid and 27 Dresses.

But her career received the biggest boost of all when director Zack Snyder cast her as Laurie (aka Silk Spectre II) in his film adaptation of the groundbreaking graphic novel Watchmen.

On June 20th, 2007, Malin married Italian musician Roberto Zincone.
